The Most Revealing Behind-the-Scenes Photos From the Greg Jein Collection

THE ‘USS ENTERPRISE,’ THE BATCAVE, SUPERMAN’S FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE AND TATOOINE LIKE YOU’VE NEVER SEEN THEM BEFORE

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then the press and production photos in Greg Jein’s vast assemblage could fill volumes. The legendary Hollywood model-maker whose collection Heritage Auctions will offer October 14-15 amassed thousands of images from some of the most significant movies and television shows in entertainment history. Among the lots are candid shots from the sets of Star Wars and Star Trek, Batman and Superman, Close Encounters of the Third Kind and 2001: A Space Odyssey, each image offering a glimpse of what goes on between takes as actors, directors, prop masters and camera operators make Hollywood magic happen. For a peek behind the curtain, check out these fascinating on-set images from the Greg Jein Collection.
