A standout print from Keith Haring’s beloved Andy Mouse series realized $325,000 in Heritage Auctions’ April 22 Prints & Multiples Signature® Auction, setting a new auction record for a print from the series.
Created in 1986 as a tribute to Haring’s friend and mentor Andy Warhol, Andy Mouse depicts a Haring-styled figure with Mickey ears, red shorts, yellow sunglasses and a dollar sign across a green torso. The work was consigned from the Estate of James P. Riswold of Portland, Oregon, the longtime Wieden+Kennedy creative director.
“The final result speaks not only to the enduring power of Haring’s vision but also to the discerning eye of collectors who recognize the cultural and artistic significance of works like Andy Mouse,” said Desiree Pakravan, Heritage’s Beverly Hills–based Consignment Director of Prints & Multiples. The April 22 auction totaled $1.76 million across 68 lots with a 99.5% sell-through rate.
The result underscores Heritage Auctions’ position as a leading venue to sell Keith Haring prints, and top-tier prints & multiples.
