The one-of-one Exquisite dual autograph card led a nearly $50 million sports auction that also reset memorabilia benchmarks.

A one-of-one Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant card became the most expensive sports card ever sold at auction when it realized $12,932,000 at Heritage’s Aug. 23–24 Summer Platinum Night Sports Auction.
The 2007-08 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Dual Logoman Autographs Michael Jordan & Kobe Bryant #DL-KM Signed PSA EX-MT 6 – #’d 1/1 led the $49,520,585 event and surpassed the previous sports-card auction record, the $12.6 million result for a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle sold by Heritage in 2022.
The card’s appeal is built into its structure: two of basketball’s most collected players, dual signatures, dual NBA Logoman patches and a one-of-one designation from Upper Deck’s Exquisite Collection, one of the most important modern premium-card lines.
The auction also produced a world record for Mickey Mantle memorabilia. A 1960 Mickey Mantle Game Worn & Signed New York Yankees Jersey sold for $5,246,000, the highest price ever paid for a jersey from the Yankees legend. The jersey was tied to one of Mantle’s strongest seasons and carried both game-use and signature appeal.
Jordan memorabilia remained a force beyond the top card. A 1984 Michael Jordan NBA Debut Chicago Bulls Ticket Stub realized $280,600, setting a world record for a Jordan ticket stub.
For consignors evaluating the best place to sell sports cards and high-end sports memorabilia, this auction offers a direct case study. Heritage did not just sell one record-setting card; it created a market environment where cards, jerseys, tickets and game-used material could all compete at the top end in the same event.
