THESE EXTRAORDINARY BASKETBALL CARDS, INCLUDING A 1-OF-1 KOBE BRYANT-MICHAEL JORDAN LOGOMAN, ARE BEFITTING OF THE SINGULAR HARDWOOD HEROES THEY COMMEMORATE

By Jesse Hughey   |   August 5, 2025

The only copy that will ever exist of a unique basketball card from two of the greatest players of all time will take its shot at the record books when it hits the block in Heritage’s August 23-24 Summer Platinum Night Sports Auction. Honoring two titans of the modern game, the 2007-08 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Dual Logoman Autographs card featuring Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant boasts certified autographs and NBA patches taken from the players’ game-used uniforms.

Graded EX-MT 6 by Professional Sports Authenticator, the card is headed to public auction for the first time and has a chance to fare as well or better than the top basketball cards ever sold. A 2009 Panini National Treasures Logoman Steph Curry 1/1 sold for $5.9 million in a private sale, and the auction record for a basketball card is $3.12 million for a 2018 Panini National Treasures Logoman Luka Dončić 1/1.

Jordan and Bryant Card

The only Michael Jordan-Kobe Bryant dual-signed Logoman that there will ever be is one of the centerpiece offerings in Heritage’s August 23-24 Summer Platinum Night Sports Auction.

“The demand for this card is astronomical, which makes sense, because it has everything, including photos, jersey patches, and signatures from two of the greatest players who ever stepped on the court,” says Chris Ivy, Heritage’s Director of Sports Auctions. “The Dual Logoman card offered in this auction is the only example created that includes only Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, making it the most sought-after example of the incredible Upper Deck Logoman series, and because of Kobe Bryant’s tragic death in 2020, it always will be the only one.”

The card is one of just a handful of inimitable items on offer in a sale that features one-of-a-kind ballers with unmatched talents, including one player whose size and skills were so far ahead of their time the NBA rewrote the rules of the game in hopes of mitigating his dominance over other players. Keep reading for a closer look at four other basketball cards sure to catch the eye of serious bidders.

George Mikan Card

1948 Bowman George Mikan Rookie #69 PSA Mint 9

The width of the foul lane, the shot clock, and the goaltending rule are so ingrained in basketball you might think they were part of the game from its very origin, but, in fact, they were all altered or introduced by the NBA and NCAA as a response to the stifling dominance of George “Mr. Basketball” Mikan, the “Father of the Big Men.” Coaches were frustrated by the ability of the 6-foot-10 Mikan and other especially tall players to position themselves near the basket on defense and swat shots out of the air, leading to the widening of the foul lane and prohibition of goaltending. And a notorious game in which the Fort Wayne Pistons simply passed the ball around without taking a shot to protect a 19-18 lead against Mikan’s Minneapolis Lakers led to the development of the 24-second shot clock. For Mikan’s contributions to the game, his is the key card in the 1948 Bowman set, and this spectacular example stands as one of just four with a PSA Mint 9 grade.

Wilt Chamberlain Card

1961 Fleer Wilt Chamberlain Rookie #8 PSA Gem Mint 10

The numbers from Wilt “The Stilt” Chamberlain’s career defy belief: a single-season point total of 4,029, seven consecutive seasons leading the association in scoring, a career point average of 30.1, and, most legendary of all, 100 points scored in a single game. Those are just a handful of the NBA records he still holds more than 50 years after retiring. Among them: 50 or more points scored in a single game 118 times, 60 or more 32 times, and 23,924 rebounds – including 55 in a single game. Chamberlain’s lofty 7-1 height has a lot to do with that dominance, but he was a peerless athlete as well, with incredible strength and speed. The 1961 Fleer card is from his third NBA season but is considered his “rookie” card, as it was the first basketball card issue of his career. This flawless example is one of only four to boast the PSA Gem Mint 10 rating.

Michael Jordan Card

1986 Fleer Michael Jordan Rookie #57 SGC Pristine Gold Label 10

In the 1980s and ’90s, you could find Chicago Bulls gear all over the world, well beyond the Windy City area where one would expect to see fans. Michael Jordan was the reason. He is also directly responsible for the creation of the Air Jordan line of sneakers from Nike, now an industry unto itself, and the star of the massively successful Looney Tunes-meets-live-action Space Jam. Just a few of the reasons why include six NBA championship rings (and the Finals MVP honors for each), five NBA MVP awards, 14 All-Star Game appearances, and 10 scoring titles. The NBA MVP trophy is even named for him. A one-of-a-kind player deserves a singular card, and this one – the sole SGC specimen out of more than 4,000 submissions to find a home beneath the grading service’s special gold-colored “Pristine 10” label – qualifies.

Kobe Bryant Card

2000 Upper Deck Game Jersey Kobe Bryant (Patch 2-Autograph) PSA NM-MT 8, PSA/DNA Auto 10

Widely considered one of the best basketball players of all time, Kobe Bryant was a force to be reckoned with, and he has the numbers to prove it: five championships, two Finals MVP awards, 18 All-Star appearances, and two scoring championships. A superior player warrants a landmark card, like this outstanding example that boasts a white-and-yellow swatch taken from a game-used jersey as well as an autograph assessed as a perfect Auto 10 by the experts at PSA/DNA. The hand-numbering of 2/8 marks it as the second in an issue of, in homage to his jersey number, just eight, and its PSA NM-MT 8 grade makes it one of just two specimens in such condition.
