Action Figures & Toys

LJN Toys placed Thomas Magnum behind the wheel of the red Ferrari that became inseparable from Magnum, P.I., translating the series’ signature image into a vehicle-and-figure set for the toy aisle. The sports car was more than transportation for Tom Selleck’s charismatic television detective, serving as a recurring symbol of the borrowed luxury surrounding his life at Robin’s Nest and an essential part of the program’s visual identity. This release pairs the Ferrari with a 3¾-inch Magnum figure complete with Selleck’s unmistakable mustache.

In Peter Beard’s long inscriptions around the border of this print, alternatively titled Elephant Reaching for the Last Branch on a Tree, he argues that elephants and humans face strikingly similar survival crises as growing populations are confined by finite land and resources, leading to environmental destruction, stress, disease, and violence. He challenges conventional conservation approaches by asking whether elephant populations should be left to compete naturally or actively managed to remain in balance with their environment.
