Fine Silver
Produced in San Antonio circa 1855, this Samuel Bell coin silver cup is typical of Bell’s drinking vessels. The Texas-based silversmith purportedly used Mexican reales to produce tableware, spurs, Bowie knives and jewelry at his adobe storefront. Clientele listed in the company’s register included Robert E. Lee, Jefferson Davis, Ulysses S. Grant and other prominent military figures, including Sam Houston, who wore a pair of Bell silver spurs at the Battle of San Jacinto.

Comic Art
Making his first appearance 50 years ago in the pages of The Incredible Hulk, Wolverine was created as an antagonist for the Green Goliath. Over the decades, he became a fan favorite and one of Marvel’s most recognizable heroes, making the leap to cartoons, video games and even live action. But it all began with these character sketches from the mind of Marvel legend John Romita Sr., who drew a turnaround, head shot and profile of Wolvy’s iconic first costume.

Action Figures
R2-D2 is arguably Star Wars’ most famous droid, and Kenner’s first R2-D2 action figure is arguably responsible for a large slice of the character’s fame. R2-D2 was one of the first four action figures released by Kenner in 1977, and this artwork of the character was created for the back of the action figure blister cards, which showed previews of the other Star Wars figures in the line and provided millions of children the opportunity to dream of the next addition to their collection.
