Though he was born in Connecticut and studied art in New York and Paris, Philip Russell Goodwin was best known for his skill in capturing the rugged beauty of the American West. Goodwin died in 1935 in his studio in Mamaroneck, New York, but his legacy lives on through his illustrations and his remarkable depictions of wildlife and the outdoors. A prime example is his A Contemplative Rest, the sale of which will benefit the Mamaroneck Public Library.

As one of the initial shareholders in Planet Hollywood, Arnold Schwarzenegger was well represented in the restaurant chain’s famous displays of movie memorabilia. One of the most recognizable Schwarzenegger items from the Planet Hollywood collection is this screen-used leather motorcycle jacket the actor wore in 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day. The iconic “T-800” Terminator jacket features scuffing and production distress to represent damage incurred during battle, including intentional holes from squibs and bullet hits.

Sports Cards
In 1911, close to the time of this card’s debut, Tyrus Raymond Cobb was at the apex of his considerable powers. His league-leading numbers that season are staggering: .420 average, 248 hits, 47 doubles, 24 triples, 127 RBIs, 83 stolen bases. The American League had no choice but to crown him Most Valuable Player, the only season he was honored as such.
