Editor Pick 1

Jane Hutcheson was an American artist known for her exquisite enamel and metalwork, particularly the luxurious flower baskets she created for Gorham and Cartier in the mid-to-late 20th century. Her intricate, gilded metal sculptures with vibrant enamel petals became highly collectible for their craftsmanship and timeless beauty, and today her floral baskets remain prized by collectors, celebrated for their elegance and meticulous detail. Hutcheson created this trio of nature-inspired desk ornaments for Cartier in the 1960s.

For a franchise with as many fan-favorite characters as Star Wars, it is still surprising how quickly Grogu (or Baby Yoda, to many) was embraced by audiences around the world. Since first appearing in Season 1 of The Mandalorian, Grogu has popped up on essentially every piece of merchandise imaginable and even starred in his own Studio Ghibli short. This portrayal of Grogu by renowned fine and pin-up artist Olivia captures the signature blend of impressionism and realism that has long defined her work.

Although the stock ticker was invented in 1867 by Edward A. Calahan, the design was improved upon, and became a commercial success, thanks to Thomas Edison. The stock ticker offered here is one of Edison’s earliest versions of these working models called the Universal Stock Ticker manufactured in the early 1870s. This piece is marked “Universal Ticker 3-A/22 Ohms,” meaning it can be dated to 1871 through 1874. There were only 5,000 of these units made, making this early version exceedingly rare.
