A PSA Gem Mint 10 complete Base Set and a signed Magic Artist Proof set show how trophy TCG material is moving at auction.

Heritage Auctions’ June 26-27 Trading Card Games and Manga Signature Auction realized $7,894,456, setting a new Heritage record for the Trading Card Games category and surpassing the company’s previous all-time high set in March.
The top result was Pokemon 1st Edition Base Set Complete Set of 102 PSA Trading Card Game Gem Mint 10, which sold for $1,218,750. A complete First Edition Base Set is difficult to assemble in any condition; collecting all 102 cards in PSA Gem Mint 10 places the set in a much narrower tier. Heritage’s release noted the work required to build the set over time, especially given the low population of certain cards.
The sale also showed how deep demand remains for Pokemon trophy and production material. Pokemon “Pikachu” Illustrator Unnumbered Promo CoroCoro Comics PSA Trading Card Game NM-MT+ 8.5 realized $843,750, while Pokemon Trophy Pikachu No. 1-3 Trainers 2nd Tournament PSA Graded Trading Card Game brought $875,000 as a single lot. A Wizards of the Coast production-history piece, Pokemon 1st Edition/Shadowless Base Set Uncut Sheet, sold for $375,000.
Magic: The Gathering collectors also competed for one of the auction’s most unusual achievements: Magic: The Gathering Artist Proof Limited Edition (Beta) Set of 285 CGC Graded Trading Card Game. The signed and sketched set realized $575,000. Artist Proofs were printed in limited quantities, and gathering all 285 known examples with signatures and sketches created the kind of one-of-a-kind collecting story that can change how bidders respond.
The manga section added another origin point, with Shonen Jump No. 1, 1968 (#1) Debut Issue selling for $37,500. The result reinforced that trading cards and manga now often move together as interconnected pop-culture collecting categories.
For consignors deciding the best place to sell trading cards, Pokemon cards or manga collectibles, this auction shows why Heritage’s cross-category audience matters. The sale did not rely on one headline card; it delivered record-level demand across complete sets, trophy cards, production material, Artist Proofs and manga firsts in a single event.
