Space exploration collectors turned out for Heritage Auctions’ reception and preview for its Nov.1-3 auction featuring items from the Armstrong Family Collection™. The auction realized more than $7.4 million. Two additional auctions featuring the Armstrong Family Collection™ are scheduled for 2019. Reception guests included Mark and Rick Armstrong, sons of Neil Armstrong, and David Hall, CEO and founder of Silicon Valley-based Velodyne LiDAR Inc., the company behind the technology used for autonomous vehicles. “Thank you to the enthusiasts out there, the supporters of NASA, the lovers of science and the dreamers of impossible dreams,” Mark Armstrong said after the auction.
